$395.00
Found at market in northern England, this handsome set of Victorian Oak and Silverplate Goblets are certain to be a stunning addition to any table.
Wooden goblets have a long history, predating more precious metal versions, and were used by both commoners and nobility in ancient times. It wasn't until Medieval times that silver goblets began to be produced. From the grand banquets of the medieval courts to the intimate gatherings of Renaissance nobility, these vessels were a symbol of hospitality and abundance.
These lovely examples of antique craftsmanship were finely carved from English oak with silverplate bowls and stems carefully created to fit perfectly with the wood. The silverplate detailing of beading and diamond patterns creates visual interest next to the warm brown wood. Elegant sloping lines characterize the stem of the goblet, certain to sit well in the hand and bringing refined elegance to every sip.
Whether used to host or as part of a gorgeous display, these heirloom goblets are a treasured find for sure, a worthy addition to any collection!
