Antique Paris Opéra Garnier Jewelry Box

Lovingly collected from a neighborhood market in Paris, we were thrilled to discover this special souvenir box this fall. A rare, turn-of-the-19th-century treasure, this Antique Paris Opera House Jewelry Box undoubtedly commemorates a grand visit to the City of Light that would have been incomplete without a memorable glimpse of this iconic architectural masterpiece. 

Perched dramatically on decorative feet that extend from the faceted glass body to elevate the box and flood it with light in order to showcase the intricate illustration to brilliant advantage, the box's gilt frame glows with lavishly embossed metal. Shimmering with wonder and adventure upon the beveled glass lid, a captivating image of the famed Opéra Garnier has been beautifully hand-colored. Embellished with thin strips of lustrous mother of pearl that add dimension and sheen to the magnificent image, the padded interior of the box remains lined in the remnants of its original soft, tufted antique silk. 

A nostalgic and wondrous touchstone that is sure to evoke romantic memories of travel or inspire future wandering, this lovely box promises to bring the spirit of Belle Époque Paris to any setting.
