Found at a silver market in northern England, we were thrilled to discover this Antique Centerpiece Bowl with its exquisite clear glass edged liner - stunning in every way! Richly ornate with pristine cuts that form the image of an open fan at center, the top edge appears to move in the light as a cascade of saw-tooth edges flow outwards towards the dramatic loving cup style handles. Poised at just the right angle to transport with ease, the articulated handles are expertly embellished with a lovely design. This magnificent upper vessel fits seamlessly within a gleaming silver-plate pedestal base that rises from four captivating, diminutive feet.

Adorned in expert silverwork that creates a most regal impression, this captivating piece was executed by talented artisans at the great Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF). Founded in 1853 in Geislingen, Germany, WMF's fine glass and silver quickly rose to the height of European fashion following medals of distinction at the Great London Exposition of 1872.

Artfully coaxed from the gleaming silver to form an ornate design, cheerful floral and vine motifs are boldly grounded by a beautifully accented acanthus leaf at center. This splendid centerpiece is perfect for fruits, candies, tea time pastries, seasonal decor or pretty florals.
