Antique Silverplate Creamer and Sugar Bowl Set
Antique Silverplate Creamer and Sugar Bowl Set
$175.00
Found at a countryside silver market in England, this antique Silverplate Creamer and Sugar set has the quintessential elegance that Victorian serveware is known for. A mix of pretty engraved scrolling flourishes and floral embellishments flow gracefully around the top and bottom edges of each piece, while an exuberant frame at center is lovingly hand-engraved with an elegant, cursive JM monogram. The interiors of both pieces gleam with a luxurious gold wash.
With its classic double-handled silhouette calling to mind a loving cup, the open sugar bowl would also make a gorgeous vase, while the creamer also seems destined for double-duty with a few stray blossoms or petite posy. Resplendent with the gracious style of a bygone era, this lovely set will make coffee or tea time your favorite hour of the day.
Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. In very good antique condition. Circa 1880-1890. Creamer measures 4.75"H x 5.25"W. Sugar bowl measures 4.25"H x 8.5"W.
