All the around the world, the kitchen is the soul-nourishing heart of the home. Delicious, home-cooked meals prepared with love bring family and friends together in a way that nothing else can. The kitchen holds such a special place in our hearts, and one of its most dear expressions is our love of vintage and antique kitchenalia helping to conjure warm memories from the same heartfelt place.

Found at market in England and rare to see complete with its stoneware center and oak and silverplate holder, this Antique Blue Willow Carved Wood Butter Dish showcases a delightful plate perfectly sized to serve fresh or herbed butter or other delicious spreads.

Produced by one of the country's great potter dynasties, William Adams & Sons, in the final decade of Queen Victoria's reign, the family was first documented (in a court case, no less!) as producing items from Burslem's local clay as early as 1448. From the opening of their first pottery in 1650 until the company joined the Wedgwood Group in 1966, an impressive seventeen generations of the family carried the title 'Master Potter'.

With a beautiful story that traces its origin to the heart of England's legendary stoneware region, this charming piece promises to bring a pinch of history along with an extra helping of cozy to the table.

Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. Center dish is removable for cleaning.  Handwash only. In very good antique condition. Circa late 1800s-early 1900s. 0.5"H x 5" in diameter.
