Antique Silverplate Picks - Set of 12

Found at market in the north of England, this set of twelve silverplate corn cob holders has a led quite a life! Retailed in Durban, South Africa at the renowned and high-end family firm of Randle Bro. & Hudson Ltd., wholesale silversmiths and goldsmiths who also sold fine jewelry. Founded by William Randles, a former officer commanding the Royal Durban Rifles (1874 to 1878) and a member of the Durban Town Council in 1878, the firm's premises were designed by Street Wilson in 1910 and expanded further in 1917, and remained in operation for at least 100 years.

We imagine these silverplate spikes could easily be used to make eating corn on the cob a more elegant operation, but they also could be used for garnishes or lifting petite hors d'oeuvres. In a classic style as fresh and contemporary as the day it was crafted by a fine silversmith, this shining heirloom set is sure to become an indispensable accessory for your creative tablescapes.
