The Victorian era, named after England's Queen Victoria, lasted from the 1830's to the turn of the 20th century and was an era of abundance and beauty. A lovely example of the lush aesthetic of the Victorians is this elegant Silverplate Fruit & Nut Serving Set recently arrived from market in England.
Nestled luxuriously in its original fitted presentation case from luxury Liverpool retailer Boodle & Dunthorne, this magnificent service of two Fruit and Dessert Serving Spoons, Sugar Sifting Spoon and Nutcracker is a sweet reminder of the easy elegance that can be added to formal occasions, casual entertaining and nights at home alike. In an ornate, beautifully engraved pattern, these sparkling tabletop treasures were originally for serving fresh fruit and nuts, while the sifter would have been used to sprinkle granulated sugar over the top and the cracker to open nuts by the fire.
A wonderful addition to your silver collection, let this set beautify your breakfast table, then bring it back out after dinner to dip into fruit salads or even meringues, whipped cream, cobblers, puddings, trifles, sorbets, or ice cream!
Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. In very good antique condition overall with expected areas of silver loss to the contact point ridges of the nutcracker as seen in the alternate images.
