For the true coffee lover, we are so pleased to present this set of Vintage Sterling Silver Coffee Spoons with striking coral-hued resin "coffee bean" finials retailed by the long-shuttered Barraclough & Sons of Leeds, established in 1805 by Zachariah Barraclough. Trading as jewellers, silversmiiths and goldsmiths, the firm maintained retail premises as at 54 Briggate, a bustling shopping street in the heart of Leeds.

Created for Barraclough & Sons by Viners, these stylish mid-century spoons make a sweet impression nestled within the dark velveteen of their original presentation box.  Formed at the beginning of the 20th century by Adolphe Viener and sons, the Viners maker mark "EV" reflects the registration initials of son Edward Viener. With a Sheffield assay mark for the 1939 production year, these shining sterling spoons originate from an exciting time in the history of Viners, which received a Royal Warrant in 1930 as Cutlers and Silversmiths to George V. This heightened profile assisted with a grand expansion during the 1930s and Viners grew to become England's largest cutlery manufacturer following World War II.
