Antique Silverplate & Mother of Pearl Spreader Pair
Antique Silverplate & Mother of Pearl Spreader Pair
$125.00
Of course we all are familiar with the basics: knives, spoons & forks. But what about all those other serving pieces that the Victorians were so fond of? The proper Victorian had a specialized utensil for every conceivable food - one being more beautiful than the next!
We're thrilled to present this elegantly refined pair of spreaders that would have graced the well-laid Victorian table. Wonderfully made by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield with lustrous mother of pearl handles, luxe sterling silver ferrules, and delicately engraved silverplate blades, the pair are neatly stored in their original presentation case.
An excellent addition to your charcuterie board or breakfast table for butter, jam, chutney, confit, paté, or soft cheeses, they are splendidly, beautifully, wonderfully Victorian - and they are happy to be called back into service!
Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. In very good antique condition. Box is 9"W x 3"L x 1.5"H. Spreaders are 7.5"L. Hand-wash spreader with warm soapy water taking care not to allow the piece to soak in water. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
