Victorian Silverplate & Mother of Pearl Jam Spoon Set
Victorian Silverplate & Mother of Pearl Jam Spoon Set
$125.00
Of course we all are familiar with the basics: knives, spoons & forks. But what about all those other serving pieces that the Victorians were so fond of? The proper Victorian had a specialized utensil for every conceivable food - one being more beautiful than the next!
We're thrilled to present this elegantly refined pair of jam spoons that would have graced the well-laid Victorian table. With lustrous mother of pearl handles and delicately hand-engraved silverplate bowls decorated with scrolling leafy details, the pair are neatly stored in their original presentation case lined in plush red velvet and bright red silk.
An excellent addition to your charcuterie board or at the breakfast table - for jam, chutney, jellies or confit...they are splendidly, beautifully, wonderfully Victorian - and they are happy to be called back into service!
Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. Circa 1880s. In very good antique condition with slight wear to the silverplate on the back of one of the spoons and signs of age and wear to the box as shown. Box measures 7.75" x 3.75". Jam Spoons are 6.25" in length. Hand-wash only with warm soapy water taking care not to allow the piece to soak in water. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
