Learn More U.S. Navy Silverware
Sailing the high seas is no easy feat; it’s a daring and treacherous journey where the ocean’s unpredictable nature leaves little room for error. The stakes are even higher when going to war aboard naval vessels, whether they be grand battleships or nimble destroyers.
To care for their sailors at sea while also supporting the United States silver industry during lean times between the two world wars, the U.S. Navy commissioned silverplate flatware in a grand King's pattern. Most of the Naval silverware today was produced for use aboard naval vessels and were taken home by sailors after their ships were decommissioned.
