Vintage Buffalo China Green Floral Mustard Pot

Vintage Buffalo China Green Floral Mustard Pot

$12.00

From the corner diner, to the bustling bistro, to your very own kitchen cupboard at home, restaurant china is as popular as ever. This American-made china has stood the test of time for good reason: it's sturdy, unpretentious, classic and true.

Produced by the now-defunct Buffalo China Company, these classic mustard pots are decorated in Buffalo's cheerful Kenmore pattern with a dark green floral garland circling the sturdy white ironstone body.

Once upon a time, mustard was brought to the table not in a squeeze bottle, but in its own little pot with a lid. For a creamy dijon, a grainy mustard or a classic American yellow mustard, these perfect little pots will bring their nostalgia to your table.

Limited quantities and subject to prior sale. 3.25"H x 3"D. Microwave, Dishwasher and Oven Safe. In excellent, unused condition.

Learn More About Our Vintage Restaurant Ware

Found in the shuttered warehouse of a third-generation, family-owned restaurant supply company in Chicago, we are proud to offer a limited collection of unused restaurant ware.  Dating from the 1950s to the 1970s, these nostalgic, American-made pieces are about as honest as dinnerware gets.  Clean, simple shapes decorated with the colors and patterns reminiscent of their era.  And above all, these pieces are of a quality that is near impossible to find today at any price.

Learn More About Buffalo China

The Buffalo Pottery Company was established in Buffalo, New York, in 1901. It was an offshoot of the Larkin Soap Company, which was founded in 1875. John Larkin and his brother-in-law Elbert Hubbard conceived Buffalo Pottery to make dishes that could be purchased with certificates from Larkin Soap. In essence, the company was a gimmick to sell more soap!

Buffalo Pottery produced many different kinds of pottery for commercial use in hotels and railroad dining cars, as well as art pottery all of which is popular with collectors.  In 2003, Buffalo Pottery emptied its kilns for the last time and closed the factory doors, thus ending about 380 jobs and 102 years of history.
