Vintage Pommery & Greno Aluminum Champagne Bucket
Vintage Pommery & Greno Aluminum Champagne Bucket
SOLD
Founded by Alexandre Louis Pommery and Narcisse Greno in 1856, the house of Pommery initially focused on wool trading before shifting entirely to champagne in 1858 under the direction of Alexandre's widow, Jeanne Alexandrine Louise Pommery. Still in operation as one of France's top champagne houses, Pommery & Greno champagnes perfectly embody the subtle, refined elegance of that most prized of sparkling wines.
From their gorgeous 19th century estate, Villa Demoiselle, in the Champagne mecca of Reims, the house of Pommery continues in traditions established by Louise Pommery, who became a legend in the champagne world. Catering to British tastes, Pommery revolutionized the industry by crafting and introducing the first commercial brut (dry) champagne to the market in 1874. Known for mineral freshness, elegance, and finesse, the wine is aged in an eighteen kilometer network of underground chalk cellars.
Produced by the house as a promotional item for French cafés and bistros, this sparkling Vintage Champagne Bucket, with its sleek silhouette and shapely carry handles, proudly bears the Pommery & Greno name. A lovely find during our most recent buying trip to Paris, this gorgeous stainless steel bucket is sure to serve with aplomb at your next gathering. Ideal for bubbly or sparkling water, as well as refreshing the ice, it promises to impress guests in truly French style.
Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. In excellent vintage condition. Measures 8.25"H x 11"W with handles.
