Antique French Pocket Watch Case
Antique French Pocket Watch Case
$275.00
During the late 19th century, Parisian artisans created elaborate jewelry boxes and pocket watch holders. The pocket watch holders were known as ‘casque porte montre’, or pocket watch caskets. These little gems often featured a beveled glass box mounted on sculpted brass legs with an enameled painting in the back or a tufted velvet pillow lining. A small interior hook at the top allowed a favored pocket watch to be carefully displayed.
Found at market in Paris, this finely crafted antique slant front pocket watch case has thick beveled glass sides and lid set within a detailed frame. Charmingly worn tufted red silk lines the inside of the case and a hook awaits a treasured locket, necklace or yes, even a pocket watch!
Elegantly raised on four decorative feet, it is the perfect accent on a vanity or bedside table, lovingly storing your most treasured piece of jewelry in lasting French style.
3.5"W x 4"L x 4.25"H. In very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear to the case and lining.
