Vintage French Carafe "Pastis 51"

Vintage French Carafe "Pastis 51"

Created in 1951, the Pernod spirits company launched its Pastis 51 into the market of competing pastis brands that had grown in popularity following the prohibition of absinthe. Since its inception, Pastis 51 stood out for its refreshingly modern take on anise-based drinks and by 1968, it became Pernod's leading brand.

Pastisser means "to mix" in Provençal French and the flavor of Pastis 51 is produced when the mix of Chinese star anise, aromatic Provencal plants, fennel, oriental licorice and African cola nut are steeped in alcohol and undergo a double-distillation process.

From France, a vintage glass Pastis 51 carafe produced exclusively for use in cafés & bistros.  This streamlined carafe with its straight sides and clean silhouette, is decorated with the name Pastis 51 in cobalt blue.

This classic carafe is in excellent vintage condition and perfectly captures the je ne sais quoi French bistro style.

Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. Measures 7.5"H x 3.5"W.
