Vintage English Strawberry and Cream Serving Basket

Brimming with floral beauty and a certain charm that is very, very British, this elegant Vintage Strawberry Basket is sure to take pride of place on any table. Made by the venerable Coalport potters of Shropshire, England, the serving basket has a lovely arched handle and is made of pristine white bone china. Surely drawing inspiration from the prettiest of English meadows, the basket is beautifully decorated with scattered blooms in shades of blushing pink, lavender, blue and yellow and bears the signature of one of Coalport's most prolific decorators, D. Capey. Resting inside the basket are a creamer and an open sugar bowl. The sides of all three pieces have a basketweave texture. 

This exceptional set is used to serve fresh strawberries dressed in rich cream and sprinkled with sugar bringing to mind the sunny, carefree days of summers in the English countryside.
