From an antiques market in England, this lovely Vintage Mahogany and Silverplate Gallery Tray is a handsome and storied find for sure. With all the elegance of its era, the rich mahogany is beautifully complimented by the sparkling pierced silverplate gallery and gleaming presentation shield at center which reads:

Who Is R. Ricardo?

We can't be certain, but we believe this tray was gifted to either Ralph Ricardo who owned a small automobile manufacturing company called "Two Stroke Engine" in the coastal town of Shoreham-by-Sea or his much more famous cousin Sir Harry Ralph Ricardo who was one of the foremost engine designers in England. 

Both Ricardos (but especially Sir Harry Ralph Ricardo) were integral in the automotive industry in Britain.
