Recently arrived from England, we are pleased to offer this grand Victorian Silverplate and Mother of Pearl Dessert Service for 12. In its sturdy wooden canteen complete with original key, and a regal, velvet lining in deep amethyst, this magnificent set is truly one-of-a-kind.
The lustrous mother of pearl-handled pieces include knives with beautifully rendered silverplate ferrules and delicate 3-tined forks, all engraved with lovely lace-inspired embellishments. Serving pieces in gleaming silverplate complete the set - luxurious grape shears, and a pair of sturdy nut crackers along with a pair of exquisite berry spoons embossed with a profusion of fronds and fruits, then gilded to protect the precious silver from fruit acids.
Produced by the renowned silversmiths at Walker & Hall, this stunning set was originally intended for use with a fruit or dessert course, but is also ideal for appetizers, salads, a light lunch, even breakfast - any time more the slightly more petite proportions of the knife and fork would be welcome.
