A New York Times bestseller, Home, is the whimsical solo picture-book debut of contemporary artist Carson Ellis. A fantastical tribute to the many possibilities and magical locales that might be called home - a house in the country, an apartment in the city, or even a shoe - Ellis muses that home can be found in many unexpected places including on the road, upon the sea, or floating in the land of myth and lore.
A lively visual feast with creative illustrations that engage children as it explores the concept of home, this loving look at the places where we live is filled with enticing illustrations rendered in a striking and playful style. Presented in warm, earthy gouache-and-ink art, these wondrous homes promise to draw readers (and listeners!) into each scene.
A Canadian-born American children's book illustrator and artist, Carson Ellis draws inspiration from folk art, history and nature. She is also the illustrator-in-residence for the band, The Decemberists, and received Grammy nominations in 2016 and 2018 for album art design. Ellis's favorite place to call home is a farm in Oregon where she lives with one husband, two sons, three cats, three llamas, four goats, and an indeterminate number of chickens.
