Antique English Silverplate & Amber Glass Biscuit Barrel

Ready to dazzle on every occasion, this Antique English Silverplate & Amber Glass Biscuit Barrel is one of the prettiest and most brilliantly hued we've ever found! Just arrived from the north of England, its richly ornate silverplate pedestal and frame support the stunning colored central cylinder, which appears to float above the distinctive openwork around the upper and lower edges.

Sleek and exceptional, the vibrant warm amber art glass barrel is topped by a magnificent lid that culminates in a jet black finial knob. Designed for maximum drama, each element of this statuesque jar combines to create a regal impression - from the flowing silverwork reminiscent of graceful fans spanning the perimeter to the minimalist swing handle to the stylish bun feet. As au courant today as it was more than a century ago, this lush work of art promises to become a glistening focal point within any glass or silver collection.

Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. In very good antique condition. 6.5"H (9"H with handle raised) x 4.875" in diameter.
