Antique French Café Coat Hook
Antique French Café Coat Hook
$195.00
Bringing to mind romantic images of lively cafés brimming with artists, writers and neighborhood philosophers, this Antique French Café Coat Hook dates from the early 20th century. A happy find during our most recent visit to a countryside market outside of Paris, we were taken in an instant by its smart silhouette and decorative details. With a soft patina, hard-won from a century of loyal service safeguarding hats, les parapluies (umbrellas) and coats from the hustle and bustle, the handsome hook attaches to the wall by means of cast hardware mount faced with a cheerful flower.
Hand-crafted with a graceful bent-wood hook and elegant finial suspended from a sturdy wrought iron stem, the elegant curved hook easily accommodates coats and bags, while the upper knob makes a great spot to perch a hat or corral shopping totes. Although traditionally employed for coats and hats, we also find these hooks to make a charming solution for leashes, aprons, or towels. Whether at-the-ready in the entryway or hung as a distinctive towel rack in the guest bath, this lovely home accessory retains all the enchanting nostalgia and antique style of a classic French café.
Strictly limited and subject to prior sale. At time of listing, a total of 3 Café Hooks are available. In very good antique condition. Measures 9"T x 4.5"W x 4.25"D.
