Devilish Dexter & Bewitching Beatrice Halloween Mouse

Bewitching Beatrice has been looking forward to Halloween since approximately November first. With her purple witch’s hat pulled low, cape tied smartly at the neck, and pumpkin treat bucket at the ready, she has devised an ambitious trick-or-treating route calculated to maximize candy acquisition before the village clock strikes nine.

Devilish Dexter is somewhat less organized. Having discovered his costume in the back of a cupboard shortly before sundown, he has nevertheless committed enthusiastically to the role, complete with scarlet horns, sweeping black cape, and a pair of exceedingly dashing orange trousers.

Beatrice insists they have no time for haunted houses, costume contests, or unnecessary social calls until their pumpkin bucket is properly full. Dexter has agreed to follow her lead—with the important proviso that any cheese-flavored treats be divided equally.
