Antique French Spaniel Inkwell

Discovered during our travels in France, this charming Antique Dog Inkwell celebrates the enduring affection between humans and their canine companions. Made of cast brass and mounted upon a shaped copper base, the handsome hound reclines contentedly, keeping watch over the inkwell concealed beneath.

Wonderfully expressive, the dog's relaxed pose and gently modeled features capture a sense of loyalty, intelligence, and quiet companionship. Finely detailed fur and softly rendered contours lend the piece remarkable character, while the rich contrast between the sculptural figure and copper foundation creates visual warmth and depth.
