Antique "Souvenir de la Fête d'Ambert 1902" Café au Lait Bowl

Antique "Souvenir de la Fête d'Ambert 1902" Café au Lait Bowl

$95.00

“Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.” ~ L.M. Montgomery

From Belle Epoque France, a gorgeous Antique Café au Lait Bowl produced in 1902 as a souvenir of a fête (celebration) in the town of Ambert. What type of celebration? Well, we'll never know for sure, but perhaps it was an annual celebration of the town's famous blue cheese, Fourme d'Ambert. One of the oldest cheeses of France, Fourme d'Ambert is made from raw cow's milk from the Auvergne region where Ambert is located...and if that's not something to celebrate, I don't know what is.

Whatever the reason for Ambert's fête of 1902, it would never be completely forgotten with this charming hand-decorated porcelain café au lait bowl produced exclusively to remember that happy time.

Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. 3 1/8" tall x 6 1/4" in diameter. Please note, the bowl is not perfectly round, but has the charming qualities of imperfection. Handwash only.
