From one of the world's ultimate treasure troves, the antique markets of Paris, we are so pleased to offer this exceptional Antique Trésor (Treasure) Box. Finely crafted of richly stained rosewood and dating from the mid 19th century, this exquisite little treasure box is itself a treasure indeed.

With a horizontal slit in the front for depositing money, secret love notes or clever, humorous musings, the lid is embellished with elegant brass inlay spelling the word Trésor (Treasure) in a classic, ornate script. Surrounding the word and forming a distinctive frame, thin brass wire is exactingly inlaid to create a curving, free-form design. That brass inlaid design is also repeated around the key hole on the front of the box, while an intricate hand-carved textural border finishes the outer perimeter of the lid. 

Equally handsome as décor in a home office or library, or as a lovely jewelry box on a dressing table, this exceptional piece is a very rare find. Complete with its original key, this treasure box's warm glow and hand-crafted touches are sure to bring an elegant Belle Époque presence to your home.
