Antique French Ceramic Allumettes Box

Case in point is this delightful Antique Allumettes (Matches) Box produced in the 1920s for the French market by the Ditmar Urbach pottery studio of Czechoslovakia. Designed to be hung in the kitchen so a busy cook always had a match close at hand to light the stove, the box's wooden lid and charming floral decorations beautifully capture the joyful spirit of French Country.
