Vintage English Hand Bell

A resonant bell with a rich and hearty tone, this oversized English brass bell is sure to add a touch of history to your home. Handsomely cast with a warm, well-aged patina and lovely details, this exquisite bell features two commemorations. On one side the inscription "Byrness 1918" is engraved within a flowing banner.  The banner is duplicated on the opposite side with the inscription "Redgate Hall 1952."

Swinging the large hand bell creates the most lovely, bright and clear ring. A ribbed finial seems to float at the top of the handle's stem with additional articulations below. The challis-like sculptural base adds to the ritual charms of this delightful bell.
