What began as an ambitious dream of Josiah Wedgwood in 1759, would become one of Britain's most iconic names in fine china.  From the very beginning, Wedgwood did things right.  In 1765 - just 6 years after they began production of their creamware china, they were given permission by Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III, to call their product "Queen's Ware".  Wedgwood could scarcely keep up with the demand as their beautiful china became extremely popular across all of Europe.

From the Wedgwood studios in England, we present this magnificent set of 8 vintage dinner plates in the lavish Columbia pattern. Introduced in 1924, the pattern features lavish motifs of mythical creatures combined with lush floral sprays set against a creamy white background. The colorful floral medallion at center mirrors the lavishly ornate border and each plate is finished with a thin band of forest green around its outer edge.

Columbia has become one of Wedgwood's most iconic patterns and this elegant bone china is certain to be a gorgeous addition to your table.

Strictly limited quantities and subject to prior sale. In very good vintage condition. Handwashing recommended. 10.75" Please note, another service for 6 is also available. If you would prefer to purchase both sets, please call the shop at 312-280-1602.
