Vintage English Ice Cream Sundae Dish

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Whether it's a Butterscotch Sundae, a Strawberry Sundae, a Turtle Sundae, a Tin Roof Sundae, an "Everything-But-The-Kitchen-Sink" Sundae or an old fashioned classic Hot Fudge Sundae, there's nothing quite like ice cream drenched in a tasty topping and crowned with whipped cream and a bright red cherry! 

Made by English silversmith Gladwin's Ltd, these silverplate ice cream dishes are stamped with an elegant monogram C, P, and I, and were likely produced for a catering company or one of the many ice cream parlors found in England's popular seaside resort towns, or possibly even a ship given the weight of the dishes. Gladwin's biggest customers were catering companies like Lyons and shipping lines including Cunard's. 

Now they are ready to be brought back into service and filled to the brim with delicious ice cream - or used in a variety of other ways, including serving as gorgeous catch all.
