Vintage San Jacinto Coffee Pot

Vintage San Jacinto Coffee Pot

$265.50

Constructed in 1911 and originally named the Bender Hotel after its first owner, the San Jacinto Hotel was located in downtown Houston, Texas at the corner of Main Street and Walker.

The ten-story red brick, terra cotta and granite building was lavishly adorned with marble and bronze and decorated in a Louis XVI style throughout. Meals were served in the tenth-floor banquet hall as well as two dining rooms: one on the ground floor and another on the roof top. On site amenities included a cafeteria, a drug store and a Turkish bath.

In 1950, the hotel was converted for use as office space along with a Walgreens and Macy's Department Store on the lower floors. Sadly, this once prominent building was demolished in 2005 leaving very little save fond memories and a few very rare mementos such as this lovely Silverplate Coffee Pot made exclusively made by the great Reed and Barton silversmiths for the San Jacinto Hotel in Houston.

Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. 8 ozs. Circa 1920s. In good original vintage condition with gentle signs of age and use. 6 7/8" x 6 1/2".
