Flying over the Atlantic straight from Paris, this handsome majolica Vintage French Duck Pitcher was produced by the venerable potters of Saint-Clément. Founded in 1758 in the village of the same name, located in the Lorraine region of northeast France, the factory produced classic French faïence, becoming known for its novel and whimsical depictions of birds and animals fashioned into everyday serving pitchers.
Beginning in the 1920s, St. Clément expanded into tableware and fine earthenware as their famed pitchers assumed collectible status. Beautifully hand-glazed with rich colors, this handsome barbotine duck stands at attention in mid-quack!
