A: Silver Jubilee 1935
B: 1902 Coronation
C: 1911 Coronation (unavailable)

As a means to commemorate historic events through the ages - including coronations; silver, golden and diamond jubilees; royal weddings and royal visits to distant lands - artisans and craftspeople were commissioned to create beautiful pieces of memorabilia. Highly collectable, they are much more than mementos of a regal event long past: they are works of art, lovingly created to capture the spirit and splendor of their time as much as they capture our imaginations today.

Found at market in the north of England, we are pleased to present these captivating tins produced to commemorate historic royal events of the early 20th century. A small colorful tin that would have once held a Cadbury chocolate bar is beautifully decorated with the handsome images of King Edward VII and his wife Queen Alexandra. Rich and regal, it is a lasting souvenir of their coronation in 1902.

King Edward VII's reign was relatively brief (Edward passed away 9 years after he ascended the throne) and the coronation of his son George was held in 1911. Produced as a promotional piece by the Rowntree chocolate company, a lovely tin is beautifully decorated with portraits of King George V and Queen Mary set within round frames that gleam with gold and are flanked by colorful British flags.

In 1935, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of King George V and Queen Mary's reign, a large silver-hued tin is embellished with the stately King and Queen. Just one year before George's death at age 70, this Silver Jubilee was a celebration of a beloved King that worked tirelessly as a symbol of British resistance during the First World War.

Regal and rare, these storied tins are timeless souvenirs that are sure to be beloved additions to your collection.

Strictly one-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. In good antique/vintage condition with signs of wear commensurate with age. Please choose specific tin from the drop down menu above. Tin measurements: A (1935 Silver Jubilee) 6.75" x 5.25" x 2.125"; B (1902 Coronation) 3.5" x 2" x 0.5"; C (1911 Coronation) 3.125" x 4.125" x 0.6".
