Antique 1901 Sterling Fob & Labradorite Necklace
$475.00
Fashioned from an antique sterling silver watch fob, this stunningly glamorous Antique Sterling Fob & Labradorite necklace captures the sweet romance and effervescence of a time gone by.
In a glowing palette of soft shades suspended from a twisted sterling silver ring, hundreds of delicate faceted labradorite pieces cascade in five strands, culminating in a commemorative antique sterling athletic award watch fob dating from 1901. At the opposite end, gleaming silver and labradorite surround a sterling silver toggle clasp.
Created in Birmingham, England by noted fob-maker, James Alexander, a lushly articulated wreath of oak leaves surrounds a beautiful shield that seems to float in the background underneath an applied gold cartouche. A victorious carved crown floats above the medallion, while a sweetly detailed three-leaf clover with ribbon appears below. Engraved CCTI 1901, the reverse of the richly decorated fob commemorates the athletic achievement of LP Scott, School Champion, 160 yards.
Simply lovely and sure to make a grand statement, this storied piece promises to dress your every ensemble with a wistful touch of nostalgia.
Strictly one-of-a-king and subject to prior sale. 17"L. Watch fob measures 2" in diameter.
