Slant Front Pocket Watch Jewelry Box

During the late 19th century, Parisian artisans created some of the most elaborate pocket watch holders, which became known as ‘casque porte montre’, or pocket watch caskets. Patterned after classic Belle Époque jewelry boxes, these little gems often featured a beveled glass box mounted on sculpted brass legs with an enameled painting in the back, or a tufted velvet pillow lining. A small interior hook at the top would allow a favored pocket watch to be carefully displayed.

Inspired by these French antique pocket watch cases, this delicately crafted slant front box has thick beveled glass sides and lid set within a detailed frame. Black velvet lines the inside of the case and a hook awaits a treasured locket, necklace or yes, even a pocket watch!
