Designed to convey all the hallmarks of traditional Victorian architecture, the building features a striking leaded dome, turrets and slate roof that remain a recognizable local landmark today. Constructed in 1900 and carrying on the Plough Inn tradition, the property retained this name until 1930 when it modernized, becoming the Carlton.
