Commissioned by the Greyhound Racing Association, the vases were likely presented as trophies or commemorative pieces tied to the electric atmosphere of a race night beneath the stadium lights.

Gracefully flared at the reticulated rim and base and set on a weighted bases, the vases bear the clean lines and quiet elegance typical of early 20th-century British design. A subtle engraved inscription links them directly to White City—built originally for the 1908 Summer Olympics and later transformed into one of the country’s most iconic racing venues.
