After the pies and the contented sighs, (and the mandatory walk to work off dinner!) keep the spirit of the day going with John Derian's colorful Crested Turkey 1,000 Piece Puzzle. Reproduced from a 19th century chromolithographic portrait that lends credence to Benjamin Franklin's famous maxim about the wild turkey being a much more noble creature than the bald eagle, this colorful image is filled with intricate detail.
This crested turkey, one of many birds in Derian’s designs, comes from Eleazar Albin’s “The Natural History of Birds,” published in London between 1738 and 1740. The hand-colored engraving is one of 300 created by Albin and his daughter, Elizabeth, in one of the earliest known illustrated bird books. Now lending its fascinating image to this challenging puzzle, the striking engraving comes alive for new generations while providing hours of Thanksgiving fun.
1000 interlocking pieces. Finished puzzle measures 18.875" x 26.375" Art print with puzzle image included. Box measures 7.75"W x 11"L x 2.25"H.
