Learn More About Delvaux

Delvaux was a prestigious retail store located at 18 rue Royale in Paris. Founded in the 1880s, it specialized in the sale of exclusive art objects: decorated glass, earthenware, porcelain and services from collaborators including Maison Haviland, Montigny le Roi, Baccarat, Sèvres, and Clichy. Artists showcased included Marcel Goupy, Clement Massier, Félix Optat-Millet, G. Neiltz, M. Zillhardt, Jean Sala, Charles Schneider, and Jean Mayodon.

At Delvaux, artists were given creative free rein to craft glass and ceramic designs, which were all painstakingly hand-painted in-house. The exquisite pieces from its collection were regularly showcased, including at the Paris Salons and the World Exhibition Arts et Decoratifs in 1925.

While not always signed by the artist, products painted at Delvaux consistently bear the mark "Delvaux, 18 Rue Royale, Paris," a hallmark of timeless quality and craftsmanship.

Delvaux Paris stood as a distinguished emporium specializing in the sale of fine applied art, showcasing the works of celebrated artists like Clement Massier, Félix Optat-Millet, G. Neiltz, M. Zillhardt, Jean Sala, Charles Schneider, Jean Mayodon, and a host of other talented individuals.

At Delvaux, artists were granted the creative freedom to craft glass and ceramics, a process meticulously carried out in-house. In the 1920s, the establishment established its very own decoration workshop, where artists painstakingly hand-painted enamel designs onto their glassware creations.

Esteemed producers such as Maison Haviland, Montigny le Roi, Baccarat, Sèvres, and Clichy were eager collaborators, often producing exquisite pieces for Delvaux.

Delvaux Paris regularly showcased its impressive collection at prestigious venues, including the renowned Paris Salons and the iconic World Exhibition Arts et Decoratifs in 1925.
