Scenes from the silversmith’s workshop : In Sheffield, England, a city long famous for silver, our latest treasures are passing final inspections before they cross the great Atlantic for Chicago.

Gio Ponti - “Designer Of A Thousand Talents”

Every once in a while, we find something that stops us in our tracks...
The New York Times has described the late great Gio Ponti as a “designer of a thousand talents”. His influence on the world of twentieth-century architecture and industrial design can hardly be overstated. 

It was truly a treasure hunter’s dream come true when we stumbled on a cache of rare Gio Ponti designed pieces during our buying trip to Italy last fall. This very rare collection from the 1960s - with many pieces in their original paper wrappings, were designed by legendary Italian designer, Gio Ponti for use in the Officers’ Mess of the Italian Navy.
