The biannual Place de la Bastille Brocante Market

Flanking both sides of the Canal St. Martin, white tents house collections of treasure at the biannual Place de la Bastille brocante market. 

In the first picture, off in the distance, is the "Colonne de Juillet" (July Column), a monumental column commemorating the Bastille prison that once stood on this spot before the French Revolution. 

The second picture shows the gilded "Spirit of Freedom" statue that rises above the tents and sits atop the July column. 

Thankfully, the weather cooperated on Friday...Saturday looks to be a different story all together!☔️
