French Republican Guard

It's Monday and we're feeling all official standing in front of the impressive French Republican Guard building. 

The Republican Guard is part of the French National Gendarmerie and gets to do all the exciting stuff, like guarding the Élysée Palace (the residence of the French President), riding horseback in one their cavalry regiments or performing in the Armed Forces Choir or orchestra. 

They are headquartered here, near the Place de la Bastille, in the "Quartier des Célestins", which was built between 1895-1901.
