Vintage Hand-Made Green Glass Coupes - Set of 5

When is a glass more than just a thing you bought off a shop shelf?

When it is made, one-by-one, by the hands of a skilled artisan.

This striking set of 5 vintage glass coupes definitely falls into this category: The bowl of each began as a “gather” of glass on the end of a blow pipe in the blasting heat of a hot shop where the minerals that make up and change the colored glass are melded together. The gather is filled with the breath of the artisan until the glass bubble can be opened and shaped into the elegant bowl. 

The hollow stems and bases of these coupes are formed in similar fashion, except that the knops (the bulbs and bands making the pattern of the stems) are pinched into shape before being forever joined together, while both pieces are still molten hot.

In the most hopeful shade of green, this artisanal set of coupes are sure to add a splash of color that will be the pride of your springtime tablescape.
